Come and explore some of the hidden gems of the Lake District, from a vantage point not many get to experience! In this half day (3-4 Hour) Slate Quarry Exploration we will explore deep into two of the Lake Districts incredible slate quarries. We Meet at Hodge Close, or when it is particularly busy at Little Langdale. We will access Quarry number one by a 30m vertical abseil before exploring the dark tunnels of Hodge close, after this we escape via a hidden tunnel (Wellies required!) From here we make our way to quarry number 2, the famous Cathedral Quarry. Visited by many people each year thanks to its breath-taking beauty we will see Cathedral from an angle not many would ever dare to. Abseiling into the quarry from 50 metres (150ft) above the quarry bottom, we will then delve once again into the depths of the hillside before arriving triumphantly into the sunlight once again. Abseiling is the ultimate test of mental fortitude, requiring you to trust yourself, remain cool calm and collected, and delve into the unknown. It is also incredibly safe! Under the watchful eye of our expert instructors you can experience this incredible activity. However, if you don't feel like you can do either of the abseil then both of these are avoidable and you can of course opt out on the day and simply explore the tunnels with us. As always this session is tailored to you. PRICES - £50 per person - minimum 3 people per booking. Individuals are welcome to book on to activities where this minimum has been met.
